New Table Runner !!!

I'm so into chevron right now & sewing a chevron table runner is in my checklist. Finally, I completed this table runner yesterday. The pink fabric is Daisly Loop by Michael Miller. This fabric is a hard to get & I managed to buy a few meters. Meanwhile, the cream fabric is from my stash which I bought years ago.

















This table runner remains dual function just like the previous one I've made. You can use the front design & the back design alternately. On the back, I just kept it simple by sewing up fabric squares.

My Fabric Stash !!!

I've been collecting & hoarding fabrics for ages & love looking at their beautiful designs & colours. Every time I open the containers where I neatly fold & keep all the fabrics in, I get excited & start thinking of all the possible ideas on how to turn these gorgeous fabrics into something beautiful & useful.

















I love cute & whimsical designs. Currently, one of my most favourite fabric designer is Anne Kelle.


















It seems that I can't get enough of polka dots. In the above photo, the first three fabrics on the left of the top row are flannel & they are so soft.

New Handmade - Mini Blanket

Finally, my knitted blanket is done. This is my first attempt to knit a blanket. Previously, as you all know, I've been knitting lots of knitted pillow & there are still more to come. To change the air a little bit, I tried to knit a bigger project like this blanket. Although it's a bigger project but this blanket is quite small in size & I call it a 'Mini Blanket'. You can bring this Mini Blanket along when you are traveling in a car or in a plane, you can lay it down on a sofa & grab it when you are feeling cold while watching your favourite show on TV, or maybe you can put it in your baby crib for that extra warmth.

















This pattern is called 'Intarsia Knitting'. I used seed stitch for the border & stockinette stitch for the center square.

New Handmade - Table Runner !!!

Happy New Year 2013 everyone !!! To start off the new year & to get my sewing momentum's going, I want to sew something fresh & new.

And this is what I came out with, a table runner. This is the front view. As a beginner, I tried sewing some simple log cabin blocks. And this is not all cause....

















...this table runner is a double sided one. Yup, it's a 2 in 1 table runner !!! On the back, I just kept it simple by sewing up strips of fabrics. So you can use the front design & when you get bored, you just flip it over to the back design.

What I've Made This Week......

Yup, another patchwork pillow & this time I tried another design & it is called ' Hourglass Patchwork'. I purposely added the blue fabric & scattered it over to emphasize the hourglass design & also to give it a modern twist.

I just realised that there is a pinwheel at the center of the patchwork which I didn't plan at all. Great !!!

This is my new handmade, a bird door stopper. What is a door stopper you might ask? It's the thing (any kind of shapes) that put a stop & keeps open doors from moving/closing. Other than putting it beside an open door, this bird door stopper could be a decorative item too. I made this bird exclusively for Sarah Sophia shop.
